Takes precision measurements of eyes using a pupilometer and other devices to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses or contact lenses. Being an Optician assists and advises customers in selecting frames based on their prescription, lifestyle needs, and style preferences. Inspects lenses for quality, fits and adjusts eyewear, and repairs eyewear as needed. Additionally, Optician instructs customer on correct eyeglasses and contact lens care and maintenance. May process work orders and sales. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Applicable License. Requires Licensed Optician. Typically reports to a manager. Sterling Optical is looking for an Optician! We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter to fill full-time and part-time positions in our office. Responsibilities include; obtaining and submitting patient insurance information, maintaining displays of optical merchandise, pre-screening patients before their exam, assist patients in selecting frames, adjust eyeglasses to fit patients properly, maintain records of patient's prescriptions, work orders and payments, assisting patient's with eyeglasses and contact lenses as necessary, perform administrative duties as directed. Experience and flexibility are a plus but are not required. We will train the right person!
