Optician measures and fits contact lenses and eyeglass frames based on prescriptions written by ophthalmologists or optometrists. Takes precision measurements of eyes using a pupilometer and other devices to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses or contact lenses. Being an Optician assists and advises customers in selecting frames based on their prescription, lifestyle needs, and style preferences. Inspects lenses for quality, fits and adjusts eyewear, and repairs eyewear as needed. Additionally, Optician instructs customer on correct eyeglasses and contact lens care and maintenance. May process work orders and sales. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Applicable License. Requires Licensed Optician. Typically reports to a manager. We are a small boutique eye care practice that generally offers a laid-back work environment, but it can, at times, get very busy. In the midst of any busy-ness the relationship with the patient and meeting their needs remain our priorities.
This role can be full or part-time depending on the successful applicant's needs. If part-time it will be required that the successful applicant be here during the times the optometrist is seeing patients.
The optician will provide an exceptional patient experience through patient-centered service, including lifestyle prescribing and selection of frames and lenses that best serve the patient’s visual needs, facial structure, and fashion choices.
