Takes precision measurements of eyes using a pupilometer and other devices to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses or contact lenses. Being an Optician assists and advises customers in selecting frames based on their prescription, lifestyle needs, and style preferences. Inspects lenses for quality, fits and adjusts eyewear, and repairs eyewear as needed. Additionally, Optician instructs customer on correct eyeglasses and contact lens care and maintenance. Cascade Vision Center is a progressive and growing optometry office that empowers our staff to provide both top quality eye care and the best possible patient experience. We are seeking an individual who shares our passion for patient care to serve as a full-time or part-time Optician.
As an Optician, your role would involve:
Working in the optical gallery, the optician is often the first staff member that patients see upon arrival, so this role requires a friendly and outgoing demeanor to begin the patient encounter on a positive note. Opticians will cultivate new relationships with first time customers and develop a trust with returning clients in finding the best eyewear to fit each customer’s unique needs. Our optical galleries in both Seattle and Renton operate on a walk-in basis and tend to be busy. These fast-paced environments require someone who is able to maintain a professional demeanor and provide top notch customer service even in high-stress situations. All applicants must possess superior communication skills and be able to think quickly to resolve issues.
The successful candidate will work primarily in our Seattle clinic, but will also work occasional shifts and provide cross-coverage in our Renton clinic. Reliable transportation to both locations is necessary. This position reports to the office manager and must be able to work both independently as well as part of a collaborative team within the two offices.
