Optician measures and fits contact lenses and eyeglass frames based on prescriptions written by ophthalmologists or optometrists. Takes precision measurements of eyes using a pupilometer and other devices to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses or contact lenses. Being an Optician assists and advises customers in selecting frames based on their prescription, lifestyle needs, and style preferences. Inspects lenses for quality, fits and adjusts eyewear, and repairs eyewear as needed. Additionally, Optician instructs customer on correct eyeglasses and contact lens care and maintenance. May process work orders and sales. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Applicable License. Requires Licensed Optician. Typically reports to a manager. Busy Ophthalmology practice with several locations in San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties, looking for highly motivated fully experienced optician. Epic experince is preferred.
Applicant will be responsible for vision plan authorization/billing frame selection, lens options, frame adjustment/dispensing and all other aspects of the optical business. Applicant must have outgoing personality and good customer service skills. Must be a team player, self-motivated and a progressive thinker. Must be fluent in Spanish; bilingual.
Compensation is depending on the experience of the applicant. The more experience, starting pay can be negotiated.
