Being an Optician assists and advises customers in selecting frames based on their prescription, lifestyle needs, and style preferences. Inspects lenses for quality, fits and adjusts eyewear, and repairs eyewear as needed. Additionally, Optician instructs customer on correct eyeglasses and contact lens care and maintenance. May process work orders and sales. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Applicable License. Requires Licensed Optician. Typically reports to a manager.   • Job Summary:
    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as providing exceptional customer service. Your knowledge of optical products and your ability to interpret prescriptions will be crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities:
    - Assist customers in selecting eyeglass frames and lenses based on their prescription, preferences, and budget
    - Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses
    - Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed
    - Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
    - Process orders for eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical products
    - Maintain inventory of frames, lenses, and other optical supplies
    - Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology

    Requirements:
    - Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role is preferred but we are willing to train the right person
    - Strong knowledge of optical products, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses
    - Familiarity with retail sales processes and customer service principles
    - Proficiency in medical billing and HIPAA regulations
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    - Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately interpret prescriptions
    - Experience with Epic or other electronic health record systems is a plus
