Takes precision measurements of eyes using a pupilometer and other devices to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses or contact lenses. Being an Optician assists and advises customers in selecting frames based on their prescription, lifestyle needs, and style preferences. Inspects lenses for quality, fits and adjusts eyewear, and repairs eyewear as needed. Additionally, Optician instructs customer on correct eyeglasses and contact lens care and maintenance. Optometric Technician/Optician needed for well-established Optometry practice. Primary responsibilities include eye wear styling, frame selection, dispensing, minor repair and adjusting eye wear, ordering and verifying prescription glasses and contact lenses. Experience preferred, but we are willing to train an individual that is interested in health care and enjoys customer service. We are looking for someone with a desire to help people and work in a fast paced environment. Candidate must be self motivated, have excellent verbal skills, be comfortable with basic math, and be able to work effectively despite frequent interruptions. Additional responsibilities include answering the telephone, scheduling appointments and instructing patients in the wear and care of contact lenses.
