Optometrist jobs in Anchorage, AK
Optometrist provides primary care and medical treatment to patients with visual system disorders and diseases. Examines patients' eyes to detect and diagnose vision problems, diseases, and other conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension. Being an Optometrist develops treatment plans and prescribes eyeglasses, contact lenses, and/or medication to treat eye disorders. Educates patients on proper eye care and treatment plans. Additionally, Optometrist requires a doctorate degree. Requires Licensed Optician. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a manager. The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Optometrist is responsible for providing direct optometric services to customer-owners in support of the overall objectives of the Optometry program.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Degree in optometry required.
2. Current Alaska license to practice optometry including diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical endorsement.
3. Meets all requirements in order to obtain medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
