Examines patients' eyes to detect and diagnose vision problems, diseases, and other conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension. Being an Optometrist develops treatment plans and prescribes eyeglasses, contact lenses, and/or medication to treat eye disorders. Educates patients on proper eye care and treatment plans. Additionally, Optometrist requires a doctorate degree. Requires Licensed Optician. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a manager.     Opticare is a group private practice with three full-time optometrist/owners and two locations in northern Minnesota—East Grand Forks and Crookston. We are looking for a full-time optometrist to help meet strong patient demand for service, and to help facilitate the transition of two of our doctors toward retirement. Our offices provide cutting-edge services and products to our patients using the latest technology and treatment modalities. We practice with a high degree of delegation to our well trained, friendly team members.

    We have a management team that works with our doctors to lead and guide our team members and the practice. Our Clinical Manager oversees our optometric technicians and deals closely with our pharmaceutical and contact lens vendors. Our Optical Manager supervises our opticians, manages our eyeglass frame inventory, our in-house production lab, and communicates with frame and lens vendors. Our Financial Manager oversees our front office and back office which includes reception, bookkeeping, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and marketing and administers human resources for the practice. We have an Office Manager in our Crookston office that coordinates with the other managers in East Grand Forks daily. These amazing team members give our doctors the freedom to do what we do best—care for patients!

    Our offices have been serving the East Grand Forks, MN and Grand Forks, ND communities since 1978 and the Crookston community since 1996. These two locations have grown steadily over the years into what is recognized as one of the leading eyecare facilities in the area. We have great relationships with surgeons, primary care physicians, and other medical specialists to provide seamless care to our patients.

    Your Opportunity

    We relocated our clinic in Crookston to a larger, newly renovated space in the past year, and we see opportunities for continued growth there as well as in our East Grand Forks clinic. Also, two of our optometrists are ready to start reducing their days per week in the clinic.

    All of this adds up to the need for an additional optometrist. We believe that it creates a great opportunity to an OD looking for an associate position now, with the possibility of moving into ownership in a reasonable length of time if everything is mutually agreeable.
