Apex Order Pickup Solutions is a new company, but finding smart and efficient ways to do things is in our DNA. Our roots go back to Apex Supply Chain Technologies, whose founder patented the first industrial vending technology more than 25 years ago. We introduced our first click & collect smart lockers in 2015, then rolled out similar technology for food order pickup soon after. As we gained more customers, we decided to create a separate business unit completely focused on their markets and needs. Our solutions provide self-serve order pickup with no waiting, no confusion, and no contact.

The ideal candidate will bring the Apex Order Pickup Solutions brand to life with a friendly, compelling, and human voice—we are not looking for buzzwords or marketing-speak here. You will dig for the human stories behind the technology to build connections with our audiences, create excitement, and gently nudge those prospects forward. You are comfortable writing web copy, videos, emails, articles, and the occasional spec sheet. You love creative collaboration and enjoy working closely with a small but mighty marketing team whether they are in person or a couple of time zones away. You have a curious mind that is not afraid to ask questions. You are also the kind of person who hates being bored and if you work here, we promise you will not be.
The Copywriter/Content Manager at Apex is a skilled copywriter who can focus for hours on an article or blog post, switch gears and brainstorm on a video, and then knock out some quick social media posts. This person will report to the VP of Global Marketing and be responsible for developing both copy and content that supports the Apex position as the leader in digital order pickup solutions.
You can understand marketing strategy and the needs of our prospects at every stage of the sales cycle. You use that understanding to bring Apex stories to life through nuanced, creative content and campaigns that resonate with target audiences across multiple industries. As a member of our Marketing team, you will work with key business and department stakeholders and be a driver of content-based communication, whether that takes the form of case studies, website copy, blog posts, social media, videos, emails, and other tactics we have not even thought of yet!
Duties & Responsibilities
- A strong understanding of the creative process and first-hand knowledge of how to execute ideas based on a strategic creative brief as well as your own instincts.
- Strong conceptual and creative thinking with the ability to write, edit, and monitor content for our company website, landing pages, social media pages and digital advertising, just to name a few.
- Work with other members of the marketing team to brainstorm and develop ideas for campaign concepts and then manage the full concept to launch process.
- Continually review and refine messaging based on industry trends, competitive situations, and company strategy.
- Exceptional writing skills, range, and variety in tone of voice, and attention to detail.
- 360° thinking with consumer touchpoint/journey awareness—full marketing funnel understanding.
- Exceptional time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team player attitude with the ability to communicate effectively, manage expectations, incorporate feedback, and problem-solve when needed.
Knowledge & Experience
- Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and be able to embrace change.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing copywriting, with at least 3 years’ experience developing content for digital marketing.
- Tech-savvy orientation and direct experience in marketing content writing.
- Strong copywriting skills and knowledge of principles for creating direct marketing and sales rep support tools.
- Experience developing drip/nurture marketing campaigns utilizing white papers, case studies, and video demonstrations to support multi-channel integrated marketing programs.
- Must be a team player, with a collaborative mindset and ability to effectively prioritize and meet and often surpass expectations.
- Completion of significant copywriting initiatives and copy implementations on web platforms.
- Experience writing and critiquing creative briefs and following through on the full creative development process, desired.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communication or similar preferred.

Work location: This position is based out of our Mason, Ohio headquarters. We work together in the office Tuesday through Thursday and enjoy the flexibility to work remotely Monday and Friday as schedules permit. #LI-HYBRID
