Organizational Development Consultant implements all aspects of organizational development. Develops training programs, facilitates change management initiatives, and reviews current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Consultant builds human capital through employee development programs. Measures employee performance to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Consultant implements and reports on the effectiveness of leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Organizational Development Consultant work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     The Organizational Development (OD) Specialist will play a key role in ensuring change initiatives and acquisition integration, focusing on staff engagement, culture and change management. This person will focus on the people side of change – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. This role will involve project planning, action planning, communication, training and other internal consulting activities. The Organizational Development Specialist will work to drive faster adoption of a unified culture, leading to a positive impact on employees and increasing internal achievement of team results and outcomes.

    While this role does not have supervisory responsibility, this person will have to work through many others in the organization to succeed. The Organizational Development Specialist will act as a coach to leaders at all levels to help them fulfill the role of change sponsor. This role will periodically travel to WSB locations in support of their acquisition integration and change management job duties.

    What you will do:

    • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management, organizational design and culture integration activities.
    • Utilize knowledge of acquisition integration success factors and organizational assessments to determine a baseline of change readiness, anticipate points of resistance and develop specific plans to mitigate or address these concerns.
    • Proactively address and respond to organizational and team issues by bringing key stakeholders together to assess root causes and performance gaps, implementing and/or supporting implementation of appropriate interventions, including strategic planning, project planning, facilitation, instruction, program design materials development and performance analysis.
    • Collaborate with HR and Senior Leaders to design, develop and execute organizational development strategies that align with the company’s goals and values.
    • Evaluate and optimize organizational design to align with business objectives and enhance efficiency during rapid staff growth.
    • Consult with leaders at all levels of the organization regarding leader and team effectiveness.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally on issues related to organization culture, values and norms. 
    • Drive continuous process improvement of integration activities.
    • Conduct leader assessments and provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to staff and leaders, assisting them to achieve their professional goals and lead effectively at WSB.

    What you will bring:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field of study.
    • Minimum of 5 years leading change management and/or organizational development initiatives in a high growth environment.
    • Experience managing change through acquisition and integration processes is preferred.
    • Experience managing change in professional services, construction, engineering or related industry is preferred.
    • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process; experience with Prosci ADKAR® Model, or similar model, is a plus.
    • Certification in relevant coaching, facitlitation or organizational development methodologies is desirable. 
    • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal, including excellent active listening skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across diverse backgrounds and at all levels.
    • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
    • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
    • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics. 
    • Problem solving and root cause identification skills. 
    • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others. 
    • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges. 
    • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle. 
    • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.
