Brighton Hotel Development is currently searching for remarkable Maintenance Technician for our NEW Residence Inn by Marriott in Bakersfield, CA. JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 year minimum of experience (entry level) working in a similar maintenance role- preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Individual must be able to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure while working on projects.
• Able to stand and walk for a minimum of 8-hour shift, able to constantly lift/move up to 10 pounds. Frequently lifting/moving up to 50 pounds might be necessary.
• Have the ability to explain to guests how to properly operate or use hotel equipment.
• Perform trouble shooting with little assistance from supervisor or management.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all hotel equipment with brief explanation or training.
• Perform routine repairs on all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, plumbing, HVAC and life safety.
• Have the ability to do basic power drops in meeting rooms.
• Be able to re-key meeting rooms and solve lock problems in guestrooms.
• Have the ability to install electrical, plumbing, pneumatic and mechanical parts into existing systems or upgrade with minor assistance.
• Be able to secure any energy source to all hotel equipment to prevent injury or asset damage.
• General working knowledge of electricity, steam, refrigeration, pneumatics and HVAC.
• Understand and follow all job SOP like Lockout / Tag-out, MSDS, and general safety.
• Have a general understanding of hotel life safety systems (Fire panel, Emergency Generator, Transfer Switch, Fire Pumps, Sprinkler System).
• Requires excellent communication skills able to communicate, read and write in English.

Experience

Required

• 1 year: Previous maintenance experience in Hotel or Commercial building maintenance environment

Licenses & Certifications

Required

• Valid Drivers License and DMV printout

Preferred

• HVAC Certificate

This is a position, requires flexible schedule AM/PM shifts, weekdays, weekends and holidays. Position requires clean DMV record, knowledge of surrounding areas.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
