Organizational Development Consultant implements all aspects of organizational development. Develops training programs, facilitates change management initiatives, and reviews current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Consultant builds human capital through employee development programs. Measures employee performance to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Consultant implements and reports on the effectiveness of leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Organizational Development Consultant work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Position Summary


    We have an opening in Kansas City for the role of Development Manager inside the Land Development Group. This position is 100% based around development of land for new neighborhoods to include grading, utilities, roads, entryways, fencing, landscaping, erosion control, coordinating gas & electric installation, coordinating with civil engineers, and keeping our projects moving forward through constant communication and follow-up.


    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Coordination with Contractors
    • Coordination with Civil Engineers
    • Constant Follow-Up (Must be self-driven)
    • Management of land development functions such as: Grading, Utilities, Paving, etc.
    • Daily project walks and pre-construction meetings
    • Coordination with franchise utility providers
    • Site Inspections and weekly/daily schedule updates
    • Bid review & Contractor Base Expansion
    • Daily travel to multiple Kansas City metro job sites
    • Additional duties as required

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 3 years' experience managing construction or civil engineering projects, preferably with experience in subdivision development
    • Must have reliable vehicle to be utilized for daily travel
    • Clean driving record
    • Ability to recognize opportunities to value engineer components of the projects
    • Ability to propel projects forward through tactical communication
    • A self-starter / self-motivated outlook / Proactive mindset
    • High level of communication skills for constant updates and follow up
    • Computer skills for high volume email traffic, PDF editing, and excel spreadsheets
    • Desire to get your boots dirty every day in order to truly manage and take ownership of each project's progress

    Physical Demands

    • Lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently and frequently moving small objects.
    • Frequently sitting for long periods of time
    • Walking or standing occasionally
    • This position works outdoors 80% of time and indoors 20%
    • Must have manual use of hands and vision to use computer constantly
