Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Organizational Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. In this role, you'll be responsible for collaborating with peers,HR, and the business to design, coordinate, and deliver talent development and organization development solutions, tools, and resources.

    Location: Within UnityPoint Health geographical footprint: Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin

    Travel: Frequent travel including overnight travel required. This position will lead trainings onsite within our geographical footprint.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll do:

    • Focus on talent development solutions to support the UPH Leadership Competencies, performance management, engagement, new team member orientation, leadership development/coaching, and team member development.
    • Other focus areas include career development, high potential talent programs, new leader orientation, and leader career level development through the Leadership Academy and onboarding initiatives.
    • Aligns efforts with organization development, human resources, diversity/equity/inclusion (DEI), talent management, and culture strategies.
    • The OD Consultant role provides services across the entire UPH organization. Services are provided where they are needed and when they are needed.

    Qualifications

    What you'll need:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree required.

    Experience:

    • Required: Minimum of 5 years of HR, learning and development, or education experience or other related experience.
    • Preferred: Previous management experience and Organizational Development experience.

    License(s) Certification(s):

    • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Strong interpersonal skills and communication
    • Knowledge of education and learning systems
    • Highly reliable, accountable, and an ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and goals.
    • Strong organizational skills with engaging in multiple projects, scheduling, tracking all aspects of individual and team sessions/consultation.
    • Ability to translate business and employee requirements to learning experiences and programs
    • Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Curiosity of learning and effective work styles.
    • Experience working with computers utilizing Microsoft Office Programs, authoring tools and technology.
    • Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision making and problem solving expertise.
    • Preferred: CliftonStrengths® coaching and facilitation experience.
