Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Organizational Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Position: The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing all fund-raising initiatives for the Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center (MRCCAC), including the annual fundraiser, other special events, planned giving, and a forth coming capital campaign. S/he is actively engaged in cultivating and soliciting current and potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors. In partnership with the Executive Director, the Director of Development also assumes responsibilities in external relations, finance, Board governance, and planning. S/he works closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in all fundraising and other operational activities as noted.

    Job Responsibilities: As the primary development officer for MRCCAC: 
    • Develop, manage, and implement all fundraising campaigns. 
    • Develop and grow a major individual giving program, including the identification, cultivation, and direct solicitation of major donor prospects in conjunction with the grant writer. 
    • Increase and diversify the funding base, which includes support from individuals, foundations, businesses, and corporations. 
    • Maintain the MRCCAC’s donor management software; ensure accurate and timely data entry and gift processing; create and analyze giving reports; and execute prompt acknowledgement of all donations. 
    • Foster a culture of philanthropy among Board members, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders. 
    • Be responsible for the development of all print materials. 
    • Develop a gift recognition program. 

    Additional Community Responsibilities: 
    Community Relations 
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships and cooperative arrangements when appropriate with the public; MRCCAC Board, staff, and volunteers; MRCCAC administration and faculty; local media outlets; and other community groups and organizations. 
    • With the Executive Director, serve as a spokesperson and representative for MRCCAC. 

    Finance 
    • Work with the Executive Director to prepare the annual and campaign fundraising budgets and help ensure that MRCCAC operates within its budgets. 

    Planning
    • Develop annual fundraising and community relations plans with the Executive Director and Board of Directors and help carry out plans and policies authorized by the Board. 

    Qualifications 
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree a plus. 
    • Five or more years of development experience. 
    • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills; and 
    • Knowledge of and experience with donor management software.
