Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Organizational Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     We are seeking a Manager, Talent & Organizational Development to:

    • Lead a team of talent management and organizational development professionals across our UW Health Wisconsin and UW Health Northern Illinois regions
    • Serve as a coach and advisor to all levels of leadership, to provide solutions for talent and development needs at the individual, team, and organizational level
    • Promote an environment of continuous learning and cultural improvement in a complex health care system

    Education:

    Minimum – Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, organizational development or related field

    Preferred  Master’s degree in business, organizational development, human resources, or related field.

    Work Experience:

    Minimum – 

    • Five (5) years of leadership experience in Human Resources, Operations or combination of the two (2) 
    • Experience creating and implementing leadership development programs.
    • Experience in organizational design and development.
    • Experience in advising, coaching, and consulting with leaders on talent management, and organizational development needs.
    • Experience with facilitation or regular communication and connection with all levels of leaders within an organization.

    Preferred 

    • Five (5) years’ experience in designing and implementing competency-based leadership development curriculum and measuring outcomes
    • Knowledge of HR employment law for managers and supervisors
    • Previous experience as an operations manager, or work experience in various areas of HR
    • Operational Healthcare experience or leadership in an operational area outside of HR in a non-healthcare organization.
