Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator/ Assistant Project Manager to join our construction team. The position will be responsible for overseeing the estimation process, negotiating prices with vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring cost control measures are implemented throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have management skills and a solid background in construction estimating or project managing.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the estimation process, prepare take-offs, drone fly jobsites.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with engineers and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates
- Utilize estimating software such planswift to prepare detailed take off material
- Analyze project scope changes and adjust estimates accordingly
- Negotiate prices with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry professionals
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget
- Collaborate with the construction management team to develop strategies for cost savings without compromising quality
- Provide accurate and timely estimates for bidding purposes
Requirements:
- Proven experience in construction estimating or related role. (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Site Development practices, materials, and methods, including underground utilities.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as planswift, agtek.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors
- Solid understanding of project management principles
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to learn and adapt, read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
