Organizational Development Manager manages all aspects of organizational development. Oversees the development of training programs, facilitation of change management initiatives, and review of current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Manager develops programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Facilitates the development and implementation of employee performance measurements to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Manager assesses leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Organizational Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Organizational Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Description

    This role is accountable for establishing and managing the development and ongoing implementation of organizational development (OD) offerings for BNA and BlueScope businesses within North America where appropriate.  This includes support on OD activities for business units, development and implementation of regional initiatives and linking into global activities to ensure BNA input into design and effective partnership for implementation. This role reports to the VP People, BNA and is a member of the BlueScope North America (BNA) People Leadership Team.

    Key Focus Areas:

    Establishing an OD function for BNA that supports:

    • Talent identification and development
    • Talent attraction strategies
    • Succession planning
    • Leadership development across BNA
    • Capability development and learning solutions
    • Organization design and strategic workforce planning
    • Performance management and individual development
    • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
    • Employee engagement

    Scope of Accountability:

    • Implementation of global talent processes into BNA in a way that delivers business value and manages succession and talent risks.
    • Development and oversight of the delivery of leadership offerings that grow the leadership pipeline from front line through to C band roles, and develops a pipeline of leaders to be considered for Executive roles.
    • Focus on all elements of diversity with a priority on driving female participation rates in the workforce.
    • Identify and develop learning solutions to meet capability needs across the BNA region.
    • Implement performance processes to provide clarity, direction and feedback to individuals across the region on how their contribution is making a difference to BNA.
    • In alignment with the global and BNA people strategy, support the organization on developing the organizational models, structures and processes to operate effectively and drive efficiency.
    • Contribute as a senior member of the BNA People lead team and the global OD network.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or similar. MBA preferred.
    • Background in capability development and career management.
    • Experience delivering subject matter expertise around capability building, leadership development and career design.
    • Experience delivering human resources support and advisory to geographically diverse and multifaceted operations, preferably in industrial or manufacturing industries.
    • Experience in coaching and development, including executive level management and international assignments.
    • Knowledge of best-practice and future trends in work, especially their implications for and potential applications to leadership, HR and workplace experience.
    • Strong facilitation skills and influencing skills
    • Able to collaborate with people at all levels in the organization.
