Organizational Development Manager manages all aspects of organizational development. Oversees the development of training programs, facilitation of change management initiatives, and review of current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Manager develops programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Facilitates the development and implementation of employee performance measurements to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Manager assesses leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Organizational Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Organizational Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Director of Organizational Management Program (OMP)

  • Wiley University is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Director of Organizational Management Program, effective and efficient administration of the Organizational Management Program. Earned doctorate in Business Administration is preferred. Experience in academic administration, education and training of adult students, and community relations are also preferred.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

    • MARKETING AND RECRUITMENT
    • Develops and monitors a marketing and recruitment plan for OMP.
    • Supervises advertising campaign and prepares the promotional literature for the program.
    • Works closely with the Recruitment Office and the OMP recruiters to increase the enrollment of the OMP students.
    • Maintains a fresh and regularly updated presence for the program on the College’s Website.
    • Prepares, refreshes, and maintains adequate supplies of attractive program introduction brochures designed for recruitment and program orientation use by recruiters at community colleges and other feeder agencies.
    • Maintains enough copies of the handbook, and brochures for each new student orientation session.
    • Develops, refines and updates a multi-media student orientation program.
    • Monitors and guides activities of any recruiters employed in the program.
    • Ensures an effective web presence for the program.

    • ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION
    • Examines and streamlines the application, qualification, and admission process for new cohort applicants to ensure that only those qualified are admitted.

    Works closely with the Admissions Office and to evaluate the students' applications and makes the appropriate recommendations to grant students admission.

    • Following transcript evaluation, makes recommendations for full, provisional, or non-acceptance to the OMP/CJA Admissions Committee in VPAA’s Office (Director, Dean, Business & Social Sciences, and one rotating faculty member).
    • Ensures that teachers maintain accurate class attendance rosters.
    • Ensures that grades for each course are submitted on paper, signed by the instructor, to the OMP Office and that the grades are promptly posted in My Wiley by the deadline stipulated by the Registrar’s Office.
    • Maintains current cohort and class rosters.
    • Submits the list of potential completers and graduating seniors to the Dean and the VPAA one and one-half (1.5) terms ahead of completion date.
    • Works with Dean to maintain course schedules.
    • Synchronizes offerings of General Education courses that service OMP students at the responsible for clearance of faculty appointments, compensation, outside employment clearances, and other matters related to providing these general education courses.
    • Assists the Dean in identifying adjunct faculty as needed.

    • STUDENT SUPPORT FUNCTIONS
    • Works with the library director to arrange resource materials for use by students and schedules library orientation if needed.
    • Develops and refines the new student orientation program given before the first class.
    • Assigns and monitors an academic advisor for each new cohort.
    • Develops a degree plan for each student admitted into the program.
    • Supervises the revision of the degree completion curriculum in cooperation with the Division’s Dean and the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
    • Updates student handbook for the Organizational Management degree completion program.
    • Provides clear guidance/recommendations to students concerning the utilization of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) or the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) and provides information concerning the process for qualifying for such credits.
    • Oversees the assessment process of the OMP students' portfolios to grant them the proper number of credit hours for their prior learning (CPL).
    • Conducts regular meetings with OMP students in each cohort to listen to their concerns and find solutions for them.
    • Maintains a running file of dated student complaints and follow-up actions taken for resolution or disposal of the matters.

    • PROGRAM ASSESSMENT, SACS AND ACBSP COMPLIANCE
    • Monitors and notes teacher pedagogical and logistical performance in assigned courses including on-time arrivals, attendance, meeting classes in the proper classrooms, at the proper time, the appropriate length of classes per evening, appropriate number of sessions, care of classrooms.
    • Supervises faculty instruction and staff performance in Shreveport.
    • Maintains a list of OMP graduates for the previous ten years, and produce at least one yearly newsletter to reach as many as possible.

    • Collaborates with the program review and accreditation initiatives of the OMP and the School.
    • Produces a yearly OMP Director’s Report directed to the VPAA through the Dean.
    • Prepares reports for the Dean of the School of Business and Social Sciences, Vice President of Academic Affairs, President, and the Board of Trustees.
    • Implements the College’s regular performance evaluation program for each of the faculty participating in the OMP in accordance with the established college’s schedule.
    • Collaborates with the Dean on the submission of current and timely reports for the Watermark Assessment System.
    • Assesses student learning outcomes to document institutional effectiveness.

    • GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
    • Maintains a file of editorial and policy additions and deletions, word changes, etc. applicable for the OMP Student Handbook, and the pertinent portions of the University Catalog.
    • Prepares and submits an operating budget for the period from July 1 to June 30 that includes all overt and over-head expenses for all participants in the program.
    • Develops and implements program goals and plans for achieving them.

    • ACADEMICS
    • Teaches at least one course per semester/session in OMP in no less than two of the three yearly sessions (fall, spring, and summer).
    • Monitors students enrolled in Senior Capstone Project (Thesis).
    • Reviews Senior Capstone Projects to ensure academic validity, proper review and program integrity.
    • Ensures electronic versions of final Senior Capstone Project are stored.
