Organizational Development Manager manages all aspects of organizational development. Oversees the development of training programs, facilitation of change management initiatives, and review of current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Manager develops programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Facilitates the development and implementation of employee performance measurements to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Manager assesses leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Organizational Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Organizational Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary:


    This position will oversee the official youth basketball platform for the CT Sun, Junior Sun Academy (JSA) which is dedicated to improving positive youth development in the community through highly engaging basketball programs. Programs include initiatives like basketball camps, clinics, mentorship, girl-specific programming, and youth basketball leagues. The person will play an integral role in the development and execution of our youth basketball vision and goals.



    Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:


    • Recruit and retain a staff of part-time and volunteer coaches and mentors
    • Help strategize and build out Jr Sun Academy programming with curriculum
    • Manage registration platform- LeagueApps
    • Manage JSA annual report
    • Showcase strong work ethic and positive attitude
    • Execute an in-arena marketing strategy for arena digital signage and concourse
    • Collaborate with CT Sun Community Relations, Marketing, and Social Media departments on engaging content and generating League, Camp and clinic signups
    • Manage Customer service inquiries and communication across all platforms- Email, phone, LegaueApps Communication tools, Facebook Group, LinkedIn Group

    Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Host in-arena game day experiences to generate awareness and leads
    • Participation in CT Sun Community Relations events and staff volunteer activities
    • Create an enthusiastic and uplifting environment for everyone on and off the court

    Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:


    • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
    • Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment

    Training Requirements:


    • Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Training courses
    • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun budget planning and analysis process and procedures

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:


    • This will be a very physically active job, with on court basketball demonstrating responsiblities
    • Extend and Overnight travel may be required
    • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays

    Minimum Education and Qualifications:


    • Bachelors’ Degree
    • Minimum Three years experience working in youth development, with budget accountability
    • Knowledge of and experience in youth development training methods
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
    • Unwavering passion for teaching/mentoring and a dedication to maintaining a safe environment for all
