    About the Position:
    The Learning and Development Specialist, under the direction of the Human Resources Manager and with the Plant Manager, will primarily be responsible to implement employee/personnel programs, including skills development training programs. This position will maintain training information and related records systems in compliance with applicable legislation. This role will also stay abreast on compliance requirements and industry best practices; recommend changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in compliance and adopt best practices where feasible.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Develop and implement training programs, including skills development for management, supervisors, lead hands and employees.
    • Responsible for all aspects of training to include training, training trainers and bringing in external trainers.
    • Maintain human resources information and related records systems in compliance with applicable legislation
    • Stay abreast on compliance requirements and industry best practices; recommend changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in compliance; and adopt best practices where feasible
    • Set-up and maintain the learning module in Dayforce.
    • Encourage safety practices using the correct channels for training, communication and implementation
    • Create and maintain library of training

    Education
    High School or equivalent and/or 5 years’ experience in training and development or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Certificates
    Leadership development training or certificates are a plus.
