    Summary

    The Fund Development Assistant at Sunny Glen Children's Home is an experienced individual who has experience in a multitude of skills including; retail sales environment, computer skills, data entry, volunteer interactions, and donor interactions. As such, they must display knowledge of customer service, handling money, working as part of a team of workers, standard retail procedures, Donor Database management, professionally interacting with supporters, as well as all Sunny Glen and affiliate rules and procedures. This position requires use of judgment and demonstration of excellent leadership skills in all situations. Individual must have proven experience in retail sales, nonprofit giving areas, or similar experience. This position rotates between three locations in the Harlingen-San Benito area. This is a fulltime position.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    • Learn and abide by Sunny Glen Children's Home policies and procedures
    • Demonstrate ability to work in a team
    • Assist creating and implement strategies and plans for the successful operation of the Fund Development Department.
      Monitor compliance to Sunny Glen policies, all legal guidelines, and quality standards
      Uses strong organizational skills
    • Uses strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills in dealing with donors
    • Develop and maintain sources in the community for future donations
    • Acts as a retail salesperson in a part time capacity at the Sunny Glen Thrift Store.
    • Holds self-accountable to a high standard of integrity and ethics
    • Responsible for balancing register, handling cash, and making bank deposits
    • Operates as cashier when necessary
    • Ensures smooth communication and transitions amongst all team members
    • Attends regular meetings with staff within Thrift Store and Fund Development and for reporting and status updates of job expectations and performance
    • Maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional relevant information in accord with agency policy
    • Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position
    • Other Duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Fund Development Manager, or Store Manager

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Paycom, and Electronic Case Management software.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Valid Texas Driver's License with an excellent driving record.

    Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB.
