BASIC FUNCTION: The specialist provides employment and training services to individuals who may be dependent upon public benefits, have disabilities, be un-employed, under-employed, or have other barriers to employment. These services include client recruitment and orientation activities, the development and implementation of a service plan, job placement including job development, employment counseling and post employment follow-up services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EQUIVALENT EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED: Bachelors' degree
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One year personnel, guidance, sales, or social work experience. Master's degree in these areas will be accepted in lieu of experience.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Social awareness, industrial procedures, record keeping, local geography, world of work, job market, computer literacy, oral and written communication skills, employment preparation skills, and area industries, area social service, and health agencies.
INCIDENTAL REQUIREMENTS: N.Y. State Driver’s license. Personal automobile for company business use.
