  • Learning and Development encompasses a set of activities designed by an organization to develop and improve the skills and competencies of its employees to enable it to achieve its set business objectives. It is a total presentation of the various ways an organization can empower its employees to achieve its set objectives. This could take the place of training, coaching, mentoring, job shadowing, learning management system (LMS), learning experience platform (LXP), certifications, and massive online open courses (MOOC) – self-directed learning. 
      
    Position Description 
    The L&D Specialist will design, develop, implement, and oversee training and leadership programs for Arbin employees, customers, and stakeholders.  Identify goals and establish assessment standards and benchmarks to evaluate the program’s success. Manage the production of guides, videos, and other supporting content. Work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and teams throughout the program development process.  

    Major Areas of Responsibility  
    • Design and implement 10-day standard onboarding training program for all Arbin employees.
    • Design product training materials for each major product family.
    • Design train-the-trainer curriculum for field service reps who train customers.  
    • Design specific job function training material for 32 core job functions.  
    • Administer the Learning Management System.
    • Administer UDEMY Enterprise accounts. 
    • Work with VP of Human Resources to develop Leadership Programs.
    • Support Change Management, with process specific training.
    Additional Responsibilities 
    • Maintain program data and tools to train staff and others. 
    • Liaise with departments to manage and assign training programs. 
    • Plan and coordinate proper venues, timing, and modality. 
    • Make recommendations to training agenda or curriculum. 
    • Oversee and participate in the development of training materials, 
    • Maintain attendance logs, incident reports, and other necessary records. 
    • Lead, mentor, counsel and manage performance of project staff (depending upon project structure). 
    • Serve as a thought leader, mentor and coach on continuous improvement tools. 
    • Provide input on safety, quality, or efficiency risks to the manufacturing process. 
    • Support other teams with projects as directed. 
    • Act as a change agent to drive continuous improvement throughout. 
    • Compile and analyze data to help with budget preparation and training priorities. 
    • Be responsible for a values-based approach to leadership education and development within the company. 
    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Data Analysis 
    • Small and medium sized group facilitation 
    Value-add Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
    • Language proficiency in Chinese (Spanish or German are also useful) 
    • Have basic Electrical Engineering knowledge including component/circuit  
    • Able to use multimeter, oscilloscope and other common equipment. 
    • Experience with ERP or CRM systems. 
    Education and Experience 
    • Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in business, business administration, computer science or engineering, human resources or education. 
    • Experience with LMS, Online learning platforms and Adobe Creative Suite  
    • Demonstrated leadership skills and attention to detail. 
    • A problem solver and critical thinker dedicated to continuous improvement. 
    • Prior experience in a consulting position. 
    • Able to collaborate and also lead with decision making.
