Organizational Psychologist studies and assesses the organizations workforce, management, culture, business objectives, and challenges using psychological principles and research methods. Designs and develops programs and tools that will be appropriate for the needs of the organization and which will assist employees and management to better achieve desired goals. Being an Organizational Psychologist utilizes various methods including employee surveys, focus groups, skill assessments, performance appraisals, and other feedback mechanisms to assist management in identifying issues and driving improvements. Creates solutions and programs that may be focused on employee selection, job training, leadership training, workplace and family issues, and change management. Additionally, Organizational Psychologist requires a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Organizational Psychologist works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     1. Valid Georgia professional certification in the assigned field

    2. Qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

    REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The duties and responsibilities of the school psychologist of the school system are such as those in the list below, but they may be increased, decreased, and otherwise modified

    1. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information, materials, and student records. Maintains student records, including special education reports and confidential reports, in a secure location.

    2. Complies with system, state, and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements.

    3. Assesses individual student's needs using a variety of assessment methods, resulting in the reporting of both quantitative and qualitative data.

    4. Selects, administers, and scores psychological tests under standard conditions in a timely manner so that compliance requirements are met.

    5. Prepares psychological evaluations and eligibility reports to address initial and reevaluation requirements. Communicates results of these evaluations effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

    6. Provides consultation to parents, teachers, school personnel, and community agencies to enhance learning and adjustment of students (i.e., classroom observations, participation in RTI or 504 meetings, behavioral intervention, etc.)

    7. Schedules and attends all meetings related to students (i.e., eligibility, evaluations, placement, manifestation, determinations, etc.)

    8. Attends staff and professional/interagency meetings.

    9. Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all job requirements; performs routine duties and responsibilities with little or no direct supervision.

    10. Serves on the district crisis intervention team and responds to crisis situations to provide mental health support to students and staff.

    11. Assists with the in-service training or school personnel as needed.

    12. Coordinates/assists in the purchase of evaluation instruments, protocols, and related assessment software.

    13. Completes all end-of-year reports as required by the state and system.

    14. Performs other duties assigned by the Director of Student Services or other appropriate administrators.
