Organizational Psychologist studies and assesses the organizations workforce, management, culture, business objectives, and challenges using psychological principles and research methods. Designs and develops programs and tools that will be appropriate for the needs of the organization and which will assist employees and management to better achieve desired goals. Being an Organizational Psychologist utilizes various methods including employee surveys, focus groups, skill assessments, performance appraisals, and other feedback mechanisms to assist management in identifying issues and driving improvements. Creates solutions and programs that may be focused on employee selection, job training, leadership training, workplace and family issues, and change management. Additionally, Organizational Psychologist requires a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Organizational Psychologist works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. What you will do:
Do you have a passion for training and developing learning content? The Training and Organizational Development Intern role will be responsible for creating eLearning trainings for our internal employees that will be available on our Learning Management Software (LMS) to enhance employee talent and development. You will work closely with Human Resources, Operations and Marketing to support company and department strategic training goals. This position can work from our Detroit Lakes, MN location.
The Internship:
During your internship you will work on training and development projects focused on the following: Onboarding New Employees, SJE Company Orientation, Supervisory Training, and HR Compliance Programs.
You will create all training materials including training videos, training guides, audio, participant materials and course evaluations by using various platforms such as PowerPoint, Articulate, Captivate and or video editing and publication. You will work with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to align and design training to meet organizational goals.
The skills you need:
To succeed in this role, you must be creative, organized, have strong written and verbal communication skills, enjoy creating online learning and developing training solutions. Students currently pursuing a career in instructional design, educational process, training facilitation and any college courses related to Learning Management, Instructional Design, Communications, New Media, Graphic and Interactive Design are a plus!
