Organizational Psychologist studies and assesses the organizations workforce, management, culture, business objectives, and challenges using psychological principles and research methods. Designs and develops programs and tools that will be appropriate for the needs of the organization and which will assist employees and management to better achieve desired goals. Being an Organizational Psychologist utilizes various methods including employee surveys, focus groups, skill assessments, performance appraisals, and other feedback mechanisms to assist management in identifying issues and driving improvements. Creates solutions and programs that may be focused on employee selection, job training, leadership training, workplace and family issues, and change management. Additionally, Organizational Psychologist requires a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Organizational Psychologist works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     Job Purpose:
    As a psychologist, the clinician provides culturally competent intake assessments, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and assessment/testing for the student population as well as consultation with University staff and faculty.

    Essential Duties:
    - Provides individual and group counseling- Designs and leads structured, unstructured, psychoeducational and/or support groups- Provides crisis intervention, including serving in the after-hours consultation rotation.- Provides suicide assessment and management- Provides psychological testing within the scope of their practice (e.g., MMPI-II, CAARS, BDI, BAI, etc.)- Consults with other staff and faculty and serves as a professional resource within the community- Supervises psychology/counseling trainees

    Additional Skills Required:
    - In-depth knowledge of theories and development issues in adolescence and adulthood, particularly interventions, assessments, and crisis management skills as they relate to challenges facing todays college students.- Knowledge of psychotropic medications.- Ability to respect, support and contribute to the Universitys Catholic and Jesuit missionKnowledge of DSM-5-TR

    Minimum Education Requirements:
    - A doctoral degree in counseling or psychology from an APA accredited program with completion of an APPIC approved internship- Licensed or licensed eligible as a psychologist in Pennsylvania- Completion of Licensing requirements in Pennsylvania

    Preferred Education:

    Minimum Job Experience Requirements:
    • Three (3) years counseling experience in the mental health and related care fields with late adolescent and/or young adult populations

    Preferred Qualifications:
    - Prior experience in college counseling center setting and/or outpatient/inpatient psychiatric or outpatient counseling treatment settings- Prior training and experience counseling students from diverse backgrounds- Experience in suicide assessment and crisis management- Prior supervisory experience of trainees

    Schedule/Work Hours:
    Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Additional hours as required.
