Orthopedic Technician applies and adjusts plaster casts and assembles and attaches orthopedic traction equipment and devices as directed by a physician. Sets up bed traction units or rigs special devices as required, and inspects and adjusts bandages and equipment. Being an Orthopedic Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, completion of Orthopedic Technician training and certification program. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. JOB SUMMARY:
Provides assistance to the clinical staff by rendering basic nursing care to assigned patients. Delivers direct and indirect care following physician and nursing orders to achieve the highest standards of age/developmental specific care.
SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of a North Carolina State approved Nurse Aide I course. Minimum of two years' CNA I experience preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:
Certification by State of North Carolina as CNA I. Registered as a Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service Regulation. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCSL) required. Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required within one year in select areas.
