The Charge Entry Specialist will ensure that all encounter forms and charges are collected and entered into Athena timely and correctly in order to facilitate quick claims processing and payment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for posting both electronic and manual Provider encounter forms within the instructed time frame.
• Post charges manually for services turned in by Providers upon receipt.
• Daily encounter form and service verification and tracking.
• Communicates with Office Manager and Billing Supervisor regarding errors, delays, etc. preventing timely entry of charges.
• Any additional duties as assigned by the Billing Supervisor or Office Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• At least (2) two years of experience working in a medical office billing.
• Knowledge of insurance products, CPT and ICD-10 Coding.
• Strong communication skills; verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to quickly master Athena.
• Ability to meet daily benchmarks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
