Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED PLUSOne (1) year direct patient care experience or enrollment in a healthcare related educational program (Medical Assistant, Nursing School or Med School).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Orthopedic tech experience or Medical Assistant Certification

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Provides professional and competent assistance to physicians with the application and management of casts for orthopedic patients

• Educates patients regarding casts, splints, or braces following application

• Collects and records patients' medical history and acquires patient vital signs.

• Advises patients regarding treatment, medication, and specific physician instructions

• Collects lab samples and completes documentation for submission to lab

• Monitors inventory of and obtains necessary supplies and/or equipment for patient care in orthopedic unit

• Performs other duties as assigned
