Orthopedic Technician applies and adjusts plaster casts and assembles and attaches orthopedic traction equipment and devices as directed by a physician. Sets up bed traction units or rigs special devices as required, and inspects and adjusts bandages and equipment. Being an Orthopedic Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, completion of Orthopedic Technician training and certification program. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The South Cascade Surgery Center is growing and we are looking to hire a Sterile Processing Technician who will work as part of the health care team.
We are open Monday through Friday starting at 0600 and close when surgeries are done for the day. Therefore, we require a willingness to work varied hours with flexible schedules. With that in mind, we do not work on Holidays or weekends, and we do not take call. In the event the Surgery Center is closed (physician on vacation, etc) all full-time staff are guaranteed a minimum of 32 hours per week. In addition, our physicians provide us lunch daily!
Our Sterile Processing Technicians also serve as Operating Room Assistants and manage our surgical inventory. No experience is required and on-the-job training will be provided with the expectation that the employee will receive certification (CBSPD or equivalent) within 18 months of hire, (one-year experience 6 months certification window).

AHA BLS certification by end of month from 30 days of hire & maintained.
