Orthopedic Technician applies and adjusts plaster casts and assembles and attaches orthopedic traction equipment and devices as directed by a physician. Sets up bed traction units or rigs special devices as required, and inspects and adjusts bandages and equipment. Being an Orthopedic Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, completion of Orthopedic Technician training and certification program. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. X-Ray Technician
New England Orthopedic Surgeons, a leading orthopedic private practice, is recruiting for X-Ray Technicians. New graduates welcome to apply. This position will operate radiology equipment to make diagnostic x-ray films as directed by physicians. Instruct patients regarding procedures and follow prescribed safety standards. Accommodate individual physician preferences and protocols. Retrieve, file, and return films to proper patient’s medical record. Perform related work as required.
Education/experience requirements: Completion of course in radiologist technology approved by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist. One-year experience as radiology technologist, orthopedics preferred. Current certification with ARRT. Massachusetts License.
