    Contact Representative GS-0962-06

    The Contact Representative is the face of the district. Whether the public is walking in or calling in they will interact first with the Contract Representative. They provide information regarding the BLM's mission, map purchases, area archeology and area history. Provides information to members of the public on types of recreational opportunities available in the area. Explains rules related to the use of recreational areas and facilities and informs and persuades contacts to obtain greater public cooperation in protecting resources from fire, vandalism, pollution and litter, as well as other improper or prohibited activities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

    Specialized Experience for GS-06: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) performing research on customer service related issues; (2) abstracting information from a wide variety of legal documents in order to determine lease and land status; (3) inputting monies received into a collections and billing system; and (4) explaining information or ideas (orally and in writing) to others in a logical manner.
