Seeking an experienced Lead Medical Biller. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding systems, as well as E&M Guidelines. Knowledge of health insurance benefits, billing processes, and third party reimbursements mandatory, including Medicare, workers compensation, PPO, and personal injury payors. Must be familiar with eligibility, benefits, and authorization processes for each type of payor.
Position will be responsible for posting insurance and patient payments, auditing insurance payments to ensure payments received are per insurance contracts, and otherwise billing per guidelines to ensure maximum payment for medical services rendered.
Position will also likely manage the creating on an internal billing department, including setting up billing protocols and hiring billing representatives.
The applicant must also be reliable, self-motivated, and be ready to work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining great attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. The ideal candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to successfully communicate with patients, insurance carriers, providers, and staff. Ability to maintain the highest level of patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA laws.
Must have a high level of proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and billing software, as well as EMR systems.
