Job Summary

Foltsbrook Outpatient Therapy Department has immediate positions available at Foltsbrook Center Nursing & Rehabilitation on 104 N. Washington St, Herkimer, NY 13350 for Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant, Per Diem.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you assist one or more physical therapists in evaluating and providing treatment to help patients recover from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments under their supervision, and with their guidance.

Responsibilities

• Making modifications to treatments as directed by the physical therapist to help the patient progress or to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Preparing patients and equipment for therapy and implements treatment plans as instructed, including exercise, stretching, applying modalities, and functional mobility training.
• Recording patient's reaction to treatment and providing status reports at the end of each treatment.
• Using assistive devices and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.
• Outpatient experience is preferred.
