Outpatient Case Management and Peer Supervisor/Trainer

    Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is actively recruiting internally for a full-time Outpatient Case Management and Certified Peer Support Specialist Supervisor/Trainer to work on the Adult Mental Health team.

    The essential functions and responsibilities of this position includes, but is not limited to the following components:

    Supervision

    • Supervise a team of adult mental health outpatient case managers and peer support specialists.
    • Ensure quality care; proper and timely documentation of services.
    • Approve timecards
    • Manage time off of team members and ensure adequate coverage of team's responsibilities when someone is out of the office.
    • Implement and track employee improvement plans (performance improvement plans, corrective action plans)
    • Direct day-to-day operations amongst the team.

    Training

    • Develop and implement a training plan for new team members.
    • Ensure that team members complete all required training and keep required licenses and/or certification up-to-date.
    • Provide additional training and support for the team, as needed.

    Housing

    • Attends housing meeting, assists with outreaches when assigned case manager is unavailable.
    • Assures all clients in DBH housing have a case manager/peer assigned. This will require coordination with supervisors of other peers and case managers.
    • Makes sure assigned clients are current in Credible.
    • Coordinates TTP, case manager/peer needs with CRU supervisor.
    • Works with Program Director or Clinical Director to meet clinical housing needs.
    • Works closely with DBH Housing Manager.
    • Follows up with peers/case managers on housing assignments.

    Other Essential Duties

    • Carry a caseload with a monthly productivity standard of 60 direct service hours.
    • Work with Adult Mental Health Program Director in creating and maintaining a full continuum of care for adult mental health clients. 
    • Works with other supervisors to assure client needs are met between programs (outpatient, CRU, Receiving Center, FAST/AOT, medical). This includes coverage of medication delivery routes, when needed.
    • Coordinate with and support other programs on the Adult Mental Health team who may need assistance with case management and peer support services.
    • Maintain an accurate working knowledges of Medicaid and DHHS requirements for targeted case management and peer support services.
    • Other assignments as needed and director by the Adult Mental Health Program Director or other members of the DBH management team.

    Compensation

    The base wages for this position are based on the approved compensation structure for case managers and peer support specialists. This position is classified as full-time exempt if the successful candidate meets the qualifications for FLSA exemption.

    The successful candidate will receive a $200 per pay period supervisory stipend in addition to their base wages.

    Schedule

    The scheduled will be determined upon hiring; however, there is a strong likelihood that is may included at least a partial workday on the weekend as well as some evening work, depending on agency and client needs.

    Experience and Skills:

    Required Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

    Education/Licensure/Certification

    • Active Social Service Worker (SSW) licensure in the State of Utah; or
    • Active Targeted Case Management (TCM) certification in the State of Utah; or
    • Active certification as a Peer Support Specialist in the State of Utah
    • Preference for candidates with a bachelor's degree in one of the social science fields.

    Experience Required

    • 2 Years experience in working in the mental health field with SPMI clients.

    Skills/Abilities

    • Knowledgeable in multiple mental health systems
    • Organized and thorough with proven efforts in follow-through of assignments
    • Willing and able to supervise and train employees
    • Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers and clients
    • Expected to manage both a caseload of clients and supervise employees
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience in supervision is encouraged, but not required

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employee to successfully perform the

    essential functions of this job.

    Occasional assistance with helping clients with things like going to the grocery store, going to doctor’s

    appointments, and assistance with moving. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and keep a valid

    driver’s license. Moderate physical demands at times. Staff for this position are never encouraged or asked

    to do more physical labor than their body can manage for these tasks, but staff must be able to, at

    minimum, provide transportation for themselves and their clients.

    Work Environment

    The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the

    essential functions of this job.

    Work environment consists of appointments that are done either by phone, telehealth, or in-person. This

    position will be provided a work cell phone, desk, computer, work email, and, when available, work

    vehicles.
