Outpatient Care Supervisor oversees the daily activities and staff of an outpatient medical or specialty services facility or clinic. Coordinates clerical and administrative process and workflows needed to deliver care and services to patients. Being an Outpatient Care Supervisor may include customer service, scheduling, clinical coordination, third-party and records management. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Outpatient Care Supervisor typically reports to a manager. The Outpatient Care Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Outpatient Care Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Competencies:

    The candidate must have knowledge of bio-psycho-social aspects of major mental illnesses; Medications used to treat mental illness; community resources and how to access them; evaluating and coping with family stress; problem solving and conflict resolution; ability to relate to clients, families and peers; Creativity and ability to work independently; Each individual in the IOC program will be offered the opportunity, and encouraged, to complete a Wellness and Recovery Action Plan [WRAP], a tool designed to help people develop skills, knowledge and attitudes needed in order to assume a more active role in maintaining mental health recovery

     

    Responsibilities:

      • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the involuntary outpatient commitment program.
      • Facilitates staff supervision, scheduling and service delivery to insure that all clients have timely access to appropriate services.
      • Ensures staff compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
      • Interface with Court, STCF and Crisis Screening
      • Provides services to clients as necessary.
      • Quality clinical care through evidence-based practices with adults
      • Provide clear and accurate documentation
      • Conduct assessments
      • Understanding of the IOC commitment process
      • Advocacy and Referral
      • On-call responsibilities
      • Attend Meetings and complete various reports as required

      Qualifications:

      • Master's (MA/MS) degree in mental health related field;
      • Five (5) years experience working within the mental health system
      • Two (2) years supervisory experience
      • LCSW/LPC preferred
      • Knowledge and experience working with mentally ill in imminent distress
      • Knowledge of the mental health field in NJ and commitment to the principles of wellness & recovery.
      • Knowledge of the County Court System preferred
