The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing is seeking a 90% Staff Nurse to work at the Hemodialysis Grinnell Unit.
Duties to include but are not limited to:
Completing and documenting physical assessments before and after treatment and monitoring patients during treatment.
Providing hemodialysis to patients with kidney disease.
Responsible for direct patient care in the Grinnell Unit.
Provide appropriate treatment for assigned patients as developed by the interdisciplinary team.
Deliver safe and effective care to adult renal patients using critical thinking and collaboration.
Accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.

Salary: $60,000 minimum at 100% effort to commensurate. Salary will be based on years of experience and percent effort

Education:
An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required
Required Qualifications:
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
General computer skills are required.
Minimum of 1 year recent medical/surgical RN experience is required.
Desired Qualifications:
If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable.
Previous RN Dialysis and IV cannulation experience is desired.
Knowledge of university policies and procedures is desired.
