    Job Summary:

    The Director of Outpatient Mental Health Services oversees Outpatient Therapy Services, Nursing Services, and Front Office under the direction of the Executive Director. Responsible for oversight of all outpatient activities across all locations, including quality of care, policy adherence, employee performance and engagement, program sustainability, expansion, development, and financial success.

    Responsible for routine collaboration with program/department managers to review departmental performance, provide assistance with clinical leadership and coordination of care across the division to ensure continuity of clinic operations. Outpatient clinics serve both adults and youth aged 5-18.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Plan, coordinate, identify and implement program outcomes and evaluation, strategic planning, accreditation efforts and program development.
    • Monitor and oversee all aspects related to the delivery of outpatient services throughout the division — including program visits across multiple sites.
    • Monitor adherence to policy, funding source and regulatory requirements.
    • Participate in the development of quality monitors and corrective action plans related to audit and/or Quality Assurance activities.
    • Participate in the development and the implementation of strategies to assure that programs maintain regulatory compliance across all overseeing agencies.
    • Participate in the preparation of Outpatient Mental Health Services Department budget; monitor and adhere to budgets.
    • Monitor and facilitate staff adherence to levels of service and productivity and revenue targets.
    • Collaborate with program managers to identify new markets and develop marketing strategies.
    • Develop and chair staff and clinical meetings for each program.
    • Assist health system leadership with identification and completion of appropriate grant opportunities.
    • Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned by Executive Director.
    • Assure that program goals, objectives and the division goals are understood, fostered and supported throughout the division.
    • Develop and conduct auditing processes to ensure quality metrics and regulatory compliance are being met.
    • Represent Oswego Health in relevant multi-agency meetings as assigned.
    • Perform additional duties as directed by the Executive Director.

    Required Skills/Abilities (Unit Specific):

    • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to interface effectively with employees, patients, and community.
    • Ability to deal under stressful situations often dealing with patients, families, and subject to irregular hours and on-call responsibilities.

    Education and Experience:

    • A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Healthcare, Nursing, Business Administration, Psychology, Mental Health or a related discipline required.
    • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in Mental Health.
    • Excellent clinical & supervisory skills along with three years of mental health &/or substance abuse clinical experience.
    • Requires a combination of skills in the following areas; operational oversight and evaluation of program services and staff, personnel management, leadership development, team building skills, and regulatory compliance.
    • Time management, organizational, and computer skills.
    • Excellent Oral and written communication skills.

    Working Conditions:

    • Support teams across multiple locations.
    • Ability to work flexible hours (early morning/evenings/weekends) as assigned.
    • Able to be available for on-call duties as assigned.
    • Able to travel to multiple program sites during all hours of program operations as necessary.
    • Comply with DOH requirements for annual health assessments and required immunizations.

    Pay Range: $100,000-$120,000 annually

    Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
