Outpatient Services Director jobs in Virginia Beach, VA

The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is eagerly seeking to hire a highly motivated candidate who has experience overseeing a behavioral health program in a clinical setting with supervisory, leadership and budgetary skills; and experience working with adults with mental health, substance abuse or co-occurring disorders. 

 Duties:

• Oversee large BH program (30 or more staff of varying disciplines) providing multiple services, at more than one location.
• Provide administrative leadership and clinical oversight for day-to-day operations and ensures proper implementation of policies and business practices.
• Provide supervision to program team leaders and evaluates their performance.
• Plan, implement, and manage staffing patterns to ensure required level of service to clients and to ensure staff and client safety.
• Create a learning environment and encourages the adoption of best practices to enhance programming and clinical efficacy. 
• Provide guidance to staff regarding crisis management, risk management and complex clinical matters.  
• Monitor program budget to ensure revenue and expenditures adhere to budget.
• Ensure that performance and budgetary targets are met.
• Establish and monitor quality control mechanisms to ensure program compliance with licensure and regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
• Complete projects assigned by supervisor in a thorough and professional manner within specified timeframes.
• Ensure that reporting formats match the purpose intended audience. 
• Utilize strategic planning and awareness of the rapidly changing regulatory and reimbursement environment to develop and implement effective business and clinical practices.
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficacy of program services. 
• In collaboration with other members of program leadership staff, facilitate staff meetings and clinical case reviews.
• Review quality improvement feedback/ data and reviews performance data to promote high quality, efficient service provision.
• Participate in BH Middle Management Team and serves on committees/ workgroups and manages projects as assigned by supervisor. 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday daytime hours with some evening / weekend on call coverage.
