Outpatient Surgery Director creates, directs, and implements the policies and procedures for the outpatient surgical function. Ensures a high level of quality care and services for patients by coordinating and communicating operational procedures to staff and physicians. Being an Outpatient Surgery Director monitors, evaluates, and modifies programs while adhering to company guidelines and standards. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Outpatient Surgery Director typically reports to top management. The Outpatient Surgery Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Outpatient Surgery Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Minimum Requirements
MSN or master's degree in related field required. MSN preferred.
BSN required if master\u2019s degree is not an MSN.
5 years -\u00A0Five (5) years nursing experience including progressive clinical management experience. Related clinical experience preferred.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina
Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Certification in area of nursing specialty - Preferred.
Academic medical center and/or large hospital system experience - Preferred.
Director level experience \u2013 Preferred
In Lieu of
In lieu of the master's degree requirement above, a BSN or bachelor\u2019s degree may be considered if the applicant signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreeing to enroll in an accredited applicable master's degree program within one year and obtain the master's degree within two years.
In lieu of bachelor's degree or master's degree requirements, will accept DNP or PhD in Nursing.
