Outpatient Surgery Director creates, directs, and implements the policies and procedures for the outpatient surgical function. Ensures a high level of quality care and services for patients by coordinating and communicating operational procedures to staff and physicians. Being an Outpatient Surgery Director monitors, evaluates, and modifies programs while adhering to company guidelines and standards. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Outpatient Surgery Director typically reports to top management. The Outpatient Surgery Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Outpatient Surgery Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. We are looking for exceptional people to provide extraordinary care as a Registered Nurse in our Outpatient Services Unit.

     

    Hours: PRN (as needed). 

     

     

    This professional provides planned and highly skilled nursing care for immediate pre-operative and post-operative patients.  Through continuous patient surveillance, allows for early recognition of medical or surgical complications, which may arise in any patient.

     

    Job duties include but are not limited to:

    • Admits patient to pre-op area, performs and documents assessments.
    • Receives patient from surgery and evaluates needs of patient, administering care accordingly.
    • Assesses and documents patient status. Evaluates nursing goals, care plan and outcomes.
    • Performs pre- and post-operative assessments and teaching.

    Requirements


    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice in the State of Nebraska as a Registered Nurse. Current licensure from a compact state requires Nebraska to be declared as their primary state of residence within thirty (30) days and must also obtain a Nebraska temporary permit or nursing license. 
    • Current BLS required at time of hire.
    • ACLS and PALS required within 90 days of employment.
    • Prefer PACU and/or recovery care experience.
