JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Nursing supervises and coordinates all activities related to nursing/clinical function; is responsible for planning, organizing, delegating, and controlling the services of the Center in an efficient and cost-effective manner; plans, schedules, and evaluates the work of the nursing/clinical personnel. The Director of Nursing establishes goals, objectives and performance standards, and Operating Policies and Procedures, interprets facility policies, standards and regulations for personnel, patients, medical staff and general public. The Director of Nursing of the Center functions as a patient care advocate and nursing advocate.

As a representative of The Center, all comments, attitudes, actions and behaviors have a direct effect on the facilities image and perceptions of quality service. Interaction with patients, families, physicians, referral sources, affiliating schools, visitors, co-workers, supervisors, vendors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork, which is congruent with facility standards and guidelines to promote positive relations.
