The Surgical Technologist is responsible for providing surgeons with instruments and supplies, preparation of the sterile field, passing instruments, verifying sponge, needles and instrument count, and assisting with instrument processing if needed. Performs all duties within OSHA, The Joint Commission (JC), AORN, and department policies and procedures. The Surgical Technologist will assist the Administrator and the physicians in making start up purchases as well as ongoing equipment, instrument and supply planning; assist with inventory management, preference card management. The Surgical Technologist will assist the Administrator in the start-up process of software dictionary building; staff training; support with software system; assist with schedule arrangement, create and maintain necessary logs. Research and formulate plans to meet JC/CMS cfc’s.
