PACS Administrator is responsible for the daily operations of the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems. Oversees equipment maintenance and systems testing, upgrading, and installing. Being a PACS Administrator acts as a liaison between the Radiology department and customers. Maintains positive vendor relationship. Additionally, PACS Administrator requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The PACS Administrator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a PACS Administrator typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. The Opportunity:
Perform configuration, test, deployment and maintenance to all network equipment
Validate new and existing dataflow and data formats
Oversee the support to all network equipment
Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components
Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools
Configure and maintain organizations network diagrams and accreditations
Design, integrate, test and deploy solutions to established network issues
Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load balancing, VPN’s, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VOIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP) and network address translation (NAT).
Coordinate with system engineering and integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies
Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements
What Sets You Apart: Additional years of background may be considered in lieu of education.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty; with 3 or more years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant background may be considered in lieu of degree.
JNCDA or JNCDS-DC certification
