PACS Administrator is responsible for the daily operations of the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems. Oversees equipment maintenance and systems testing, upgrading, and installing. Being a PACS Administrator acts as a liaison between the Radiology department and customers. Maintains positive vendor relationship. Additionally, PACS Administrator requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The PACS Administrator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. JOB SUMMARY:
Leads the operational functions regarding digital imaging under the general direction of the Information Management Division. The PACS Administrator is responsible for the technical implementation, maintenance, enhancement and evaluation of the Radiology Archiving Systems and other Radiology information systems. Responsible for reviewing, interpreting, analyzing and illustration of data in a manner that stimulates and supports innovative and enlightened thinking and decision making. Provides analytical and database PC support. Serves as Systems liaison with vendors, Information Services team members and end users. This includes quality of documentation, reporting, improvement and quality data and operational reports. Responsible for leading upgrade efforts and maintenance of key departmental metrics. Responsible for meeting all RIS requirements for regulatory agencies, works closely with Information Technology, Clinical Departments and physicians. Responsibilities include business development support, database creation, development, monitoring, reporting and maintenance; facilitates RCHSD enterprise system linkages, makes recommendations for optimization of Systems, ensures overall data integrity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
3 Years of Experience Associate's Degree or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of Associate's Degree. Related experience involving analysis with proven, prior experience in imaging systems, systems/application process and workflow analysis, application/system analysis, experience working on project team(s) and in clinical healthcare systems administration. Must have proven experience in being able to communicate, motivate and organize projects among a broad spectrum of hospital personnel, frequently under deadline pressure Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, strong problem skills. Must possess skills and experience in oral and written communications, including analysis documentation, project management deliverables and documentation, application/systems specifications, project preparation, risk identification and escalation, and report presentation. Knowledge of information systems in a radiology environment, & Epic Interpersonal verbal and written English language skills sufficient to exchange information with physicians and other colleagues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's DegreeImplementation experience with previous integrated health care information systems with emphasis on clinical and financial applications/systems (Epic, PeopleSoft, Meditech, PACS etc.)Working knowledge of the technical work of the various project teams (software development, operations, infrastructure, etc.), Six Sigma awareness a plusWorking knowledge of the technical work of the various project teams (software development, operations, infrastructure, etc.)Licensed Radiology Tech; Certification in EPIC Radiant preferred
