PC Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals. Resolves internal user problems and ensures correct operation of personal computers. Being a PC Maintenance Technician maintains parts inventory and logs all service/repair activity. May perform system setups for new hires. Additionally, PC Maintenance Technician may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a project leader or supervisor. The PC Maintenance Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. POSITION SUMMARY
This internship position will be responsible for the configuration, deployment, tracking, and return of clients’ workstations and CU*Base Update Appliances ordered by clients. This is a temporary role not to exceed six months for an individual not actively enrolled in school. For individuals actively enrolled in school, the duration of this role is not to exceed one year.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Install and configure software on new PCs.
2. Transport equipment between CU*A office locations.
3. Set up PC hardware with internal users.
4. Configure CU*Base Update Appliances.
5. Document and track equipment in motion.
6. Perform basic troubleshooting on hardware set up and software configuration.
7. Securely delete data on PCs.
8. Checklist documentation evaluation and process improvement.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
1. High School graduate or equivalent is required.
2. Strong desktop support skills, including Windows 7 and Windows 10.
3. Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data.
4. Ability to maintain detailed tracking records of equipment.
5. Strong organizational skills.
6. Valid drivers license required.
