PC Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals. Resolves internal user problems and ensures correct operation of personal computers. Being a PC Maintenance Technician maintains parts inventory and logs all service/repair activity. May perform system setups for new hires. Additionally, PC Maintenance Technician may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a project leader or supervisor. The PC Maintenance Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Job Description:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for pulling and routing cable in new and existing construction, terminating and testing connections, installing support structures (rack, j-hooks), and installing and configuring technological infrastructure such as Nurse Call, Real-time Locating Systems, Access Control, and CCTV.
Basic Functions:
Install various types of low-voltage electronic devices
Pull and terminate network cabling
Use a laptop
Use a ladder to access cable runs
Test and label network drops
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Improve client service, perception, and satisfaction.
Fast turnaround of client requests.
Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
Enter all expenses and time worked to appropriate service tickets in PSA.
Operate under the direct supervision of an on-site manager.

Ability to orient oneself by reading a floor plan/diagram.
Terminate ethernet connections.
Punch down cable on Ethernet patch panels and telco blocks.

Use of hand and power tools to complete installation tasks.
Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
Previous experience with structured cabling in a business/enterprise environment
Exposure to low-voltage device installation
Experience with cable terminations (Ethernet, Fiber, Coax)
