PC Support Manager jobs in New York, NY
PC Support Manager manages a team that provides personal computer deployment and support, including setup, installation, repairs, upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting. Maintains the necessary hardware and software inventory and oversees the administration of required licenses. Being a PC Support Manager analyzes PC resource requirements and evaluates available vendors, products, and services that will meet the organization's needs. Implements training programs and develops documentation to support end-users. Additionally, PC Support Manager possesses experience in a LAN environment, a strong understanding of PC operating systems, security tools, and extensive knowledge of all commonly used PC software and products. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The PC Support Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a PC Support Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Responsibilities:
- Candidate will install, update and maintain computer hardware and software on computer equipment supported by the agency.
- The position will provide Microsoft Windows and Apple OS support for the unit in the Technology Department assigned to troubleshoot and deploy computer equipment and software.
- The position will provide computer-related services and support to users, perform system administration tasks, perform hardware and software technical reviews and evaluations, coordinate project requirements with departments, and perform other duties as required.
- Candidate may be expected to work with and/or report to any of agency's facilities depending on Work Assignments.
- Moving and lifting equipment will be required.
Preferred specialized knowledge includes:
- Proficiency with computer hardware, symbol handheld devices, printers, digital senders and peripherals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows XP/7/8/Mobile 5desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010, Microsoft Suite, Exchange/Outlook 2010/2013email, and HP Jet Admin.
- Proficiency with Apple Operating Systems.
- Experience with Oracle client-based applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
- Experience with Cisco networking devices.
- Experience with Ethernet cabling.
- Familiar with networking protocols like TCP/IP and networking concepts.
- Experience with CAD and technical drawing is desired.
- Good interpersonal, strong oral and written communication skills.
