The team is principally located in San Jose, CA, supporting the protective package development of all Cisco Business Units.The focus of the position is on maximizing internal and external partnerships to achieve an outstanding customer experience and business results. The position requires an understanding of product design and dynamics, business leadership skills, packaging testing and an ability to build innovative packaging solutions. Your responsibilities include:Work with internal and external partners to develop packaging solutions which push the "status quo" for new and innovative ideas while balancing material cost, logistics and environmental impact.Engage with NPI teams to influence product design and aim to minimize overall cost of product/package system.Work with multi-functional teams to root cause quality and shipping damage issues.Drive cost and waste out of existing packaging designs.Understand logistics cost drivers and provide packaging solutionsDocument and communicate impact of design improvement.Understanding of BOMs and product lifecycle managementExcellent communication with a strong success record with influencing senior leadershipPartnership and dedication to making the team and organization successfulMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other similar engineering fieldMinimum of 7 years of working experience in a packaging engineering role or packaging design for electronicsExperience with strong background with leading multiple projects concurrentlyExperience and competence in digital literacy including Office (Mail, Excel, Word, and Power Point) and 3D CADPreferred RequirementsSolidWorks preferred.Why Cisco?#WeAreCisco.
