Qualifications

What you will be doing:

Shift: Monday – Friday 2:00 p.m. thru 10:00 p.m.

Wage: $18/hr. (Includes Shift Differential)

As a Baler, you will be responsible for the operation of wastepaper extraction and the baling system, including system inspection, daily cleaning, and minor maintenance when required. You will operate the Baler, loads bales into trucks, and keep the area clean.

Essential Functions Include:

• Employee will need to drive a forklift, inspect, weigh and load bales of recycled paper into trailers, and make sure staged correctly in trailers.
• Have thorough knowledge of paper type, in order to segregate into specific recycled bales, and prevent cross-contamination of recyclables in bales.
• Accurately track and record bale weights and overall trailer weights to ensure adhesion to standard practices with regards to maximum allowed trailer weight. Forward weight records to the proper personnel.
• Communicate with the paper recycling vendor via email/phone to schedule consistent trailer delivery and pick-up.
• Operate wastepaper shredder, including the disposal of waste cartons, and wastepaper pallets of sheet stock.
• Complete weekly TPM/PM (maintenance) on baler and shredder.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment testing.
• Previous manufacturing experience is always a plus, but not required.
• High School diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
• Forklift experience.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with managers, leads, pressman and operators throughout shift.
• Trouble shoot problems.
• Preventative maintenance as needed.
• Minimum of 3 months of job-related experience

Physical Demands: Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50lbs. (occasionally up to 75lbs.). Regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to find, handle or feel; use feet to operate foot pedal operation; talk and hear; occasionally required to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, carry, kneel, squat, crouch, balance, and twist. Vision abilities include close vision, distance, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of the position, employee is exposed to excessive noise, work near moving mechanical parts, and dust borne particles.
